Eyes of the Heart
“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.” Ephesians 1:18
In Judaism, “heart” was used metaphorically as the place of a person’s intellectual and spiritual life. Paul is praying that we will have clear perception about divine invitations to us from God. With expectancy we will know what it is we are invited into as joint Heirs.
Open our eyes, God, to truly SEE with our mind, our spirit, and our natural eyes too. It’s better than we know!
